Is your boiler leaking and you can’t figure out why? This short video will help you to identify the problem.
Is it a gas boiler? If yes, do not try to repair yourself.
Shut down your boiler’s gas and water supply, then call in one of our Gas Safe Registered engineers who will fix it for you.
Where is the leak coming from?
Is the leak coming from the pressure valve? The pressure in the boiler may be too high. A boiler’s pressure should be between 18 and 21 PSI or one bar. Remove any lime scale or debris and reseal the valves.
Is the leak coming from the temperature valve? Try turning the aqua-stat setting down. This should be 180 DF.
Is the leak coming from the boiler pump seals? Reseal or replace
Is the leak coming from the pipes? If the boiler is leaking around the pipe fittings, then it may not have been installed correctly. Our boiler cover contractors may be able to repair the boiler to bring it up to standard, but you may need a replacement.
Is your boiler corroded? Corroded pipes and tanks will weaken and allow water to escape. For example, a valve can be replaced, but you will need to replace your boiler if corrosion is widespread.
While these faults are to blame for the majority of boiler leaks, your boiler could be leaking for an entirely different reason.
