On the 10th May 2019 following extensive efforts to repair Paddle Steamer Waverley’s boilers the decision was taken by Waverley Excursions Ltd that due to the complexity and nature of the work required it was not viable to continue with current repairs.
For Paddle Steamer Waverley to have an operational future both her boilers must now be replaced.
Waverley was rebuilt in 2000-2003 and restored to her original appearance.
Waverley Steam Navigation Co Ltd, the owning charity, has very limited resources to fund additional works and is appealing to all those who have sailed on Waverley to help the ship at this challenging time. All funds donated to Waverley will help ensure she returns to steam. We want to preserve this iconic ship but we now need help to ensure she sails on for future generations to enjoy.
The challenge ahead is a significant one unlike any previous challenge Waverley has faced in her previous 45 years under preservation.
Please help us spread the message that the time to act is NOW and SAVE THE WAVERLEY.
This magnificent ship belongs to the people and everyone who has ever sailed on her has
contributed to her success. Waverley has survived many challenges in the past and now needs your support or she will never steam again!
Please donate what you can and help us get Waverley steaming once again so she can continue to give enjoyment to those who enjoy coastal cruising from the deck of a Paddle Steamer.
More than ever we need your support to preserve this iconic vessel as the Last sea-going Paddle Steamer in the World.
