In this video, we go over two of the major types of noises that can occur in a boiler.
If you're having boiler problems, don't hesitate to give Milani a call. We get the job done right - the first time.
You can get lots of different noises out of these things. If you are hearing banging noises that's definitely something you want to turn the boiler off right away. Probably have a pump that's not working. What can happen is if your pump is not working, you're not getting any flow through the boiler. The boiler's still heating, and the banging is actually water flashing the steam. And you want to shut that off before you damage the boiler.
Air noises. If you have air in your system, you hear almost a waterfall type sloshing sound in the pipes. You might hear it even up in your bedroom, going through the baseboard heater. It's important to have a good air eliminator on your system. This is an air eliminator and there's many different brands of air eliminator. And this is quite a good one. There's other small air eliminators you might have on a system, like that one up there.
If you're having lots of air into your system, you might have a boiler that's not letting a lot of fresh water into the boiler when it's needed.
There's many other noises that could happen, but those are the two main ones.
